Magnificence
of nature
A journey into the commitment to safeguarding our land.
An immersion in uncontaminated and protected nature, in a landscape full of contrasts, where the Alpine environment blends with the Mediterranean one.
History
The Parco Naturale Regionale delle Alpi Liguri (Regional Natural Park of the Ligurian Alps) is the result of a process undertaken since the early 1970s and which involved public bodies, particularly in the hinterland, private associations, and economic players. This joint effort was rewarded with Regional Law no. 34/2007, establishing the creation of the Park.
Territory and biodiversity
This land offers us a unique and special spectacle: The Alps overlooking the sea, and the beauty of a territory with a thousand surprises.
The quick transition from the coast climate to the Alps’ one gives life to an extraordinary plant biodiversity within the Park: Thyme, prickly pears, and cacti coexist with alpine meadows and rhododendrons.
The wildlife is equally noteworthy. In the Park, you can spot chamois and golden eagles, but also black grouses, white ptarmigans and wolfs.
Itineraries
The ancient ridge itineraries allow you to move from one valley to another on trails and secondary roads, admiring magnificent 360° views of the Ligurian Alps and the sea.
An unmissable destination for those who love nature and for enthusiasts of trekking, mountain biking, climbing, and many other outdoor activities.
